The Blue Ridge Mountains can heal the holiday blues. I’m researching best places for the holidays, and Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa may be the most ideal because of the festive nature of Christmas trees, lights, and decorations everywhere you look! While I wish I could stay through New Year’s, here are my Top 5 Recommendations for enjoying family and friends in this amazing holiday destination.

1. Equani Spa Gift Certificates

For holiday gift giving, I’m thinking of who needs a huge surprise of a spa session or healing therapy

2. Breakfast with Santa – Dec. 17

My nieces and nephews can meet the Jolly Big Man with a special visit in the Dining Room on Saturday, December 17 from 8:45 am to 10:45 am. Reservations are required and can be made online. Who has secret wishes? They can tell Santa, or Mrs. Claus — she’ll pass it on to him.

3. Christmas Day Dinner – Dec. 25

Between 12 pm and 5 pm, reservations are accepted in the Dining Room for the resort’s renowned annual Christmas Day Buffet. It’s such a popular event that advanced reservations are required and can be made online.

4. Enchanted Forest New Year’s Eve Gala – Dec. 31

On this last day of 2022, I can picture myself wearing an elegant black dress, shimmering crystals, and getting ready to ring in 2023 at Brasstown Valley Resort. The open bar and gourmet dinner begin at 7:30 pm, with music for dancing and a balloon drop at midnight. Reservations are required for this 21 and over party. Call the lodge at (706) 379-9900 and ask about stay packages that include upgrades like late checkout on January 1st.

5. Mountain Country Christmas in Lights at nearby Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds – Dec 1-3; 8-10; 15-17; and daily Dec. 18-23

Outside of holiday cheer in the cozy resort, the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds will transform into a spectacular, magical holiday light show immersed in Christmas music, arts and crafts, food, fun, entertainment, photo opportunities, and a visit with Santa Claus!
